NHL Plays, Predictions, & Player Props: October 20th, 2026

There's a full slate on the ice tonight! After two days of minimal games, the NHL is back with a full slate for Tuesday Night!

NBA being back? Pish Posh! We've got eleven games in the NHL tonight, and there's quite to be excited for tonight!

Here's the best of what I like for tonight in the world of Hockey!

Capitals 60 Minute ML(+105 Draft Kings)

LAK Projected Goalie: Darcy Kuemper (0-3-1, .847 SV%, 4.53 GAA)
WSH Projected Goalie: Logan Thompson (4-2-0, .910 SV%, 2.69 GAA)

The Los Angeles Kings remain as the lone team in the entire league without a win this season. They've come close a couple times, but haven't been able to notch that first dub. They had a three-game stretch against the Sharks, Panthers, and Golden Knights were they not only lost by a single goal in each game, but they also brought the Sharks and Golden Knights to OT. Both of those OT games being on the road.

I can hear you now, "why did you write "60 minute moneyline then?" Easy answer. I trust the Capitals offense and ability to get ahead than I do the Kings defense.

The Capitals haven't been perfect to start this season, but they've been very solid. They've been especially solid at home to start the season too (4-1-0 at home).

I trust the ability of the Capitals to put up some goals and I don't expect the Kings to crack Logan Thompson enough to get the win. you can play the regular moneyline at -150, but gimme the extra juice for the Capitals to get it done in regulation.

Islanders 60 Minute ML (+105 MGM)

AnA Projected Goalie: Lukas Dostal(3-3-0, .882 SV%, 3.17 GAA)
nYI Projected Goalie: Ilya Sorokin (4-2-0, .940 SV%, 1.68 GAA)

The Ducks looked really good to start the season. They won four of their first five games and beat teams like Vegas, Florida, and Winnipeg. However, they haven't been able to buy a win in their last three games.

The Islanders has been consistent to start the season. They alternated wins and losses in each game so far (which doesn't bode well for this pick). Good news is that type of stuff DON'T MATTER! What does matter? Goaltending.

Dostal's been alright for the Ducks. He's not terrible, but he's not "world beating." Sorokin might not be "world beater" category, but he's very solid and gives the Islanders a chance to win in any game he plays. With teams averaging only 1.68 goals against him this season, I like him to weather any Duck attack tonight and the Islanders lead by Bo Horvat to get the job done!

Again, you CAN play the regular moneyline at -150, but like I said for the Capitals, gimme the extra juice!

Bruins ML (+145 Bet365)

BOS Projected Goalie: Jeremy Swayman (6-1-0, .934 SV%, 1.85 GAA)
DAL Projected Goalie: Jake Oettinger (3-2-1, .952 SV%, 1.00 GAA)

Boston has been one of the hottest teams to start the season thus far. However, I feel as though they aren't getting the same "rub" that a team like the Jets are getting from people. Is it because the Bruins aren't missing their starting goalie due to trade demands? Is it because the team isn't a "sexy team?" Is it because of the city of Boston and how people view the city? I'm sorry Boston fans, I feel most the country hates your sports teams.

I don't mean to sound like a broken record here, but a reason I love Boston tonight is goaltending!

Jeremy Swayman is one of the best goalies in the league. He shut down teams like the Mammoth and the Rangers so far this year (one combined goal between the two). He also did enough to help the Bruins outlast the Jets 4-3 in overtime.

Also, the Stars haven't been able to find their groove yet this season. Their current two-game win streak is tied for their longest of the young season. However, who have they beat? The Blackhawks? The Sharks? The Sabres? Yes, they beat the Avalanche in Colorado, but that was on a back-to-back where both team play each other in Dallas the night before.

Bruins are RED HOT and the Stars are shaky. Stars haven't been great at home either. The books giving us 2.45 on a team who's 7-2 shows they down respect the Bruins. I'll ride with the hot team at what might be a misprice.
